We go to Burning Man in Nevada's Black Rock Desert and build our own camp there — Solar Plus. We're all about cleanliness, solar power and people who take initiative and can handle themselves. We live in RVs, cook together, clean up together and share the wildest week of the year.

The Burn means dust, heat and real stress — but also incredible freedom, art and people. We'll help you get through it prepared.

How the week goes

From prepping and building camp to the last speck of MOOP — here's how our Burn works.

Prep and building camp

We stock up on water and groceries, roll into Black Rock City and build Solar Plus camp together.

We put up shade structures and wrap the RVs in reflective film so they stay cooler and the dust stays out.

Life in camp

Breakfast in camp in the morning; art, parties and exploring the city during the day.

We give talks on solar panels and charge bikes and everything else with the sun. Everyone has their own cooking and cleaning shifts.

The Man burn and the Temple burn

On Saturday the Man burns — the biggest night of the week, with fire and fireworks.

On Sunday the Temple burns: a quiet, deeply moving night you'll remember forever.

Striking camp and heading out

Together we take camp down, peel the film off the RVs and pick up every bit of MOOP — any trash that might have blown away.

We leave the desert as clean as we found it.

We don't go to the Burn as tourists — we go as our own camp, and we bring people who share our values.

Our own camp: Solar Plus

Talks on solar energy, charging from the sun, cleanliness and order. We value people who take initiative and can handle themselves.

We choose our campmates

We don't take just anyone: first an application, then a personal call with everyone. We want people who are open, know the Burning Man principles and respect each other. Rudeness doesn't fly with us.

Breakfast and dinner

We have breakfast and dinner in camp. There's no lunch on purpose: during the day everyone explores the city, and other camps are always sharing food — it's part of the gifting culture.

Life in an RV

We sleep in RVs and keep them spotless inside. There's a shower, but it's a quick rinse to wash off the dust, not 50 minutes under hot water: we refill water and empty the tanks once a week.

What we eat at the Burn

We cook breakfast and dinner in camp in shifts — everyone has their own cooking and cleaning duties. For lunch, you can eat at other camps: people are always feeding and treating each other at the Burn. Here's what's usually on our menu.

Be sure to read our Burning Man prep guide — it has the full checklist. The basics: up to 105°F in the day, cold at night, dust everywhere. One suitcase per person — space in the RV is tight.
