A loop from Portland through gorges, volcanoes, dunes and the Pacific coast. We'll walk the red cliffs of Smith Rock, spend a whole day at Crater Lake, watch the ocean shoot up like a geyser and cross into Washington to the foot of Mount St. Helens. All in a comfortable RV, in great company.

The waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge, the red cliffs of Smith Rock, a whole day at Crater Lake, the dunes and lighthouses of the Pacific coast, Cannon Beach and Mount St. Helens — a six-day loop from Portland.

Day 1. The Columbia River Gorge and waterfalls
Latourell Falls — a 249-ft waterfall over a basalt cliff. Multnomah Falls — a 620-ft two-tier waterfall and the symbol of Oregon. The Vista House lookout over the Columbia River Gorge. In the evening — Bend and a night at the campground.

Day 2. Smith Rock and volcanoes
In the morning we drive from Bend to Smith Rock: a canyon of red cliffs above the emerald Crooked River and the birthplace of American sport climbing. Further on — Paulina Falls and Big Obsidian Flow, a field of volcanic glass you can walk on. In the evening — a campground near Crater Lake.

Day 3. A whole day at Crater Lake
Crater Lake — the deepest lake in the US, in the caldera of an ancient volcano. We take our time driving around the crater on Rim Drive, stopping at viewpoints overlooking Wizard Island. Sunset on the crater rim.

Day 4. Dunes and the wild coast
Oregon Dunes — 40 miles of sand dunes along the Pacific. Heceta Head Lighthouse and Sea Lion Caves — the largest sea cave in the country, home to hundreds of sea lions. Thor's Well and Devil's Churn, and sunset from Cape Perpetua, 800 feet above the ocean.

Day 5. Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock
Haystack Rock — a 235-ft sea stack right on the beach, straight out of The Goonies. At low tide — tide pools with sea stars and anemones. Clifftop trails in Ecola State Park, and in the evening a bonfire on the beach, weather permitting.

Day 6. Mount St. Helens and back to Portland
We cross into Washington State. Johnston Ridge Observatory sits right across from the crater of the volcano that erupted in 1980. In the evening we return to Portland and close the loop.

No, you don't have to drive — our experienced driver is behind the wheel for the whole route.
The deposit is $1,000 per person to hold your spot. The balance is due no later than 14 days before the tour starts.
Up to 8 people — a cozy group in a comfortable RV, no crowds.
Accommodation in the RV, transportation, all breakfasts, lunches and dinners, snacks and drinks on the road, SUP or kayaks, e-bikes and scooters, entry to all parks, internet and a guide for the whole route. Flights to Portland, insurance and personal expenses are not included.
No, we sleep in the RV — with air conditioning, comfortable beds and all the amenities.
Yes. If you cancel more than 30 days before the tour, we refund the deposit minus a small admin fee. In case of force majeure beyond your control, the deposit carries over to another tour. We'll work out the details with you individually.
